Motivation:
70% of the hospitals in Uganda still use paper-based systems.
Of the 30% that are using electronic systems. Only 2% use them for bedside care in inpatient wards where nurses are mainly involved.
This module aims to:
a) Introduce nurses to electronic medical records, their history, and benefits.
b) Discuss challenges in the adoption of electronic medical records and how to solve them
c) Expose nurses to a sample electronic tool to give them hands-on experience
d) Discuss best practices for audit, management, and adoption of electronic medical records.
e) Discuss ethical issues related to digital patient management
